How to read a Hilton award quote
Hilton prices dynamically and comps every fifth award night, which sounds like Marriott. The difference is that Hilton's comp is gated behind elite status — a plain member gets nothing. Since status also changes how fast you earn, your tier pulls this decision in two directions at once, and that's what the calculator is built to show.

Reading the result
- The verdict works as it does elsewhere: cents per point delivered against your floor.
- The ladder shows the free-night rhythm. It reprices the booking at every stay length from one to eight nights. With status, the fifth rung jumps — that's the comp landing. At Member level no rung shows a comp at all, and the flag under the verdict prices exactly what you're giving up.
- That gap is real money. Silver comes free with the no-annual-fee Hilton Honors Amex, or 10 nights — the Status is worth stat puts a dollar figure on it for this specific stay.
- The Points & Money block prices the two things a mixed booking quietly forfeits — the comp and the resort-fee waiver — rather than just comparing headline totals.

Watch for
- No status, no comp. Per Hilton's FAQ, only Silver, Gold, Diamond and Diamond Reserve members get the fifth night free. If you're a plain member on a five-plus night stay, the tool flags what you're giving up — Silver comes automatically with the no-annual-fee Hilton Honors Amex, or 10 nights.
- The cap is four free nights. They land on the 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th night of one reservation and stop. A 25-night booking still comps only four.
- All points, standard room only. The comp doesn't apply to Points & Money bookings or to premium room rewards.
- Points & Money loses the fee waiver too. The resort fee waiver covers all-points and certificate stays. Go mixed and the fees come back.
- Award stays still earn elite nights, so a long redemption doubles as status progress — worth weighing when the points-versus-cash call is close.
- Points expire after 24 months without qualifying activity. As of January 2026, base points no longer count toward tier status; qualification moved to nights, stays and eligible spend.
